How to Upgrade Your Style to Look Expensive

Published Categorized as Fashion Tips

Our style says a lot about our personality, profession, and age. Having a good style that complements your body, figure and face can make you more approachable and successful in life. However, finding the clothing, accessories and footwear that best suit you requires time and research, especially if you want to dress in the latest trends and high-end fashion items.

Hi beautiful! Just to let you know, we earn a modest commission off of purchases made through Amazon affiliate links on this page. Don't worry, it's of no extra cost to you. We love the products we recommend in this post, and we hope you do, too!

Changing your style can be complicated too, and the level of complication will depend on the amount you want to change. Some people choose to upgrade their style in order to incorporate expensive and designer items in their wardrobe. If you don’t have the funds to do so, then you can slowly alter your style in order to look expensive without spending a fortune. However, splashing the cash on certain items can help certify your expensive taste and appearance, as it provides evidence that you are a fan of high-end fashion. If you are looking to upgrade your style to make yourself look expensive, here are some things that you can do.

Table of Contents

Choose Better Fabrics

You should start with your clothing when you are upgrading your style. You don’t have to go for designer labels straight away. The first step to looking more expensive is to choose better fabrics. This includes going for high-quality and mostly natural materials. You should try to find the perfect business-casual look that works for you, as this makes you look smart, professional, and approachable at all times. When you dress this way, people will assume that you are successful and earn good money. Remember, when you are refreshing your wardrobe, the new high-quality items you purchase may require more care.

Save for Designer

When it comes to looking expensive, designer is the way to go. If you are upgrading your style on a budget, then it may be difficult to instantly splash the cash on designer clothing and accessories that complement your classy look. If this is the case for you, then you should find a designer item you want, like a Saint Laurent bag, and put money aside to save up for it. Once you reach your goal and purchase your new designer item, then you should look for another one and repeat the process. This will allow you to build up your designer, high-end wardrobe, and style at a responsible pace. You just need to be patient and self-controlled when buying designer this way.

Add Classy Accessories

Classy accessories are key to achieving an expensive appearance without having to splash out on multiple designer items. However, you should be willing to spend a generous amount on this accessory. This could be anything from a designer belt to diamond jewelry. You should start with small authentic accessories if you are planning to upgrade your style at a slow pace. For example, a Saint Laurent bag is the perfect classy accessory to compliment your high-end outfit. If you would like one for yourself, then you should check out the collection at SSENSE.

Complement Your Shape

Women have extremely unique figures. Something that looks great on one person may not look as good on you, but that does not mean that there isn’t something out there that will suit you and make you look and feel sexy and confident in your own skin. When it comes to upgrading your style, you should always choose items that complement your figure. This includes everything from the clothes on your body, to your underwear. When everything fits the way it should, you will look and feel amazing in return, which will make you feel happier and boost your confidence. Whatever you choose to wear, being comfortable is essential.

Understand Your Makeup

Upgrading your style isn’t all about clothing. Your makeup will also play a huge part in your appearance. In order to get the most out of your makeup, you need to make sure that you understand it. You can do so by watching and reading online tutorials. Purchasing all the right equipment and the right makeup for your skin tone and type is vital for the perfect finish. When applying makeup, in most cases, less is more. Although contouring and fancy eyes are currently in fashion, sometimes it just isn’t necessary. It can make you look like you are trying too hard and can taint your natural beauty, which is something that people love to see these days.

When you look good, you feel good. If you are not happy with your style and feel like you need to change, then you should not hesitate to do so. Upgrading your style to look expensive can’t always happen overnight, especially if you live on a budget. However, following the right steps and being patient will allow you to change your style for the better and look more exclusive.

  1. Thank you so much, Tiziana, and for your tip as well! Have a brilliant day!

  2. I try to stick to natural fabrics like cotton and linen now. Also I find just washing clothes on the correct setting and ironing them can help elevate a look. Often people look dishevelled because they haven’t properly cared for their clothes!
