Aspen, Colorado

If you’re eager to experience some of the breathtaking natural beauty North America has to offer, the resort of Aspen Colorado gets full marks for its wonderful scenery. It is set in a protected area and the ski run spans four stunning mountains. One slope is suitable for beginners and intermediates while the other three are great for experienced skiers looking for a challenge. If you are looking for early or late skiing, head to Whistler which usually has the most snow for longest.

Aspen is known for its high-end boutiques and restaurants. You can also relax and unwind with a meal or a bit of retail therapy in the sophisticated leisure town.

Snowbird, Utah

No doubt, for snowboarders, Snowbird ski town in Utah is a must visit. At over 11,000 feet, the snow here is reliable and there are 4,700 acres of pistes to enjoy. Its twin resort Alta, does not permit snowboarding, but ski slope hounds will be in seventh heaven at what is often referred to as the powder capital of North America.

Want a little break from the slopes? You can treat yourself to a relaxing day at the Cliff Spa or enjoy a meal at one of the resort’s many restaurants and pubs.

Vail, Colorado

If there are non-skiers in your party, Vail in Colorado is a great choice of destination. It is home to an arts festival and many other cultural and dining opportunities, perfect for off piste activities without skis.

On the other hand, all the snow lovers won’t be disappointed; there are 193 runs, over half of which are suitable for advanced skiers. Enough to keep everyone happy!

Sun Peaks, British Columbia

Next, nestled between the Pacific and the Rocky Mountains, Sun Peaks in British Columbia is a fabulous choice of destination for skiers and snowboarders. It is the second biggest resort in British Columbia after Whistler and is ideal for those of you with little ones in tow, as it’s geared up to cater for children. The Sundance Kids Center is great for children from the age of 18 months to five years who do not ski. While the Sun Tots and Sun Kids programs offer lessons and childcare for those aged three to 12-years. It allows parents to enjoy nearly 4,300 acres of ground over the three linked mountains.

Breckenridge, Colorado
