Table of Contents

Animal Print

Seen on all sorts of garments and accessories this season, animal print was certainly the standout print of the catwalk shows. Zebra and leopard are set to be huge this fall, as seen on the Victoria Beckham, Balenciaga and Tom Ford catwalks. Leopard print coats and shoes are at the focus of this trend. They certainly provide the most versatile way to add this bold and playful print to your style. When styling this trend, pair back the rest of your look. Think simple and muted tones, adding a pop of print with leopard or zebra. Furthermore, invest in a quality leopard print coat or a pair of black ankle boots, with a subtle leopard or zebra block heel.

High Shine

Gloss and glitz featured heavily on the fall/winter ‘18 catwalks. Perfect for party season, metallics, leather and glitzy threads will be huge! They can be styled for your everyday look and certainly for special occasions. At Chanel’s show metallics were used to create a glossy finish from head to toe. To translate this trend into your every look, consider investing in a pair of high shine metallic trousers in a high waist tailored fit. These can be dressed up for the office, paired with a white blouse tucked in and a simple pair of black heels. For an off-duty look, try teaming with a thin knit sweater tucked at the front, and a pair of loafers.

Leather

The most dominant fabric this season is leather, which was seen across a huge range of styles on the fall/winter ‘18 catwalks. From subtle to head to toe, this trend is ideal for experimenting with. Seen on skirts, trousers, trench coats and accessories, black leather stood out… but it’s not just black leather that the designers are embracing this season. Petrol green leather was used by Givenchy, and Loewe went for butterscotch leather.

If you prefer a subtle look and to invest in pieces that won’t date quickly, try a leather pencil skirt in black or coffee, or just give a nod to this trend with a leather bag. If you want to embrace this trend, try leather trousers in a bold shade, or a leather trench.
