Can You Use Body Butter to Moisturize Other Parts of Your Body?

You may use body butter to moisture the whole body, but some body butters are too greasy to use on your face.

This is because they can clog the pores on your face and may cause impurities to accumulate on the skin and in the pores.

Body butter is best for dry skin or in a dry climate where moisture can easily escape from the skin.

Very dry parts, such as the elbows and knees, may particularly benefit from body butter.

Can You Use Lotion on Your Face?

Body lotions are not suitable for your face, mainly because of the fragrances that are contained in the body lotion. This fragrance may also irritate the skin of your face and may have negative effects on the skin.

  1. I love body butters, especially in the colder months, and agree that they would be too heavy/greasy to use on the face. Thanks for sharing this post!

  2. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us!

    And you’re very welcome!

  3. I agree that moisturizes are better for the face than body butters. I have oily skin that is acne prone, so heavier butters/oils (coconut, shea, cocoa) clog my pores and lead to breakouts. But I had no clue that these butters could provide other skin benefits beyond just hydration – thanks for sharing!
